GENEVE AND REGION:

Unireso

Geneva city centre is very close to the Airport. It is easily reachable by train or by bus using the united network of public transport Unireso. Only one single ticket is required to travel by train, tram, bus or boat in the area France-Vaud-Geneva.

Train is the easiest way to reach Geneva city centre: 8 minutes between the Airport and Cornavin central station (every 15 minutes). All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin (city centre). The Airport railway station has direct access to the Airport Departure/Arrival levels.

The following urban buses stop at the airport (bus stops at the Departure level, in front of the train station):

to Geneva city centre: bus 10 (every 10 minutes); to international organisations and the lake or to Meyrin: bus 28 (every 20 minutes); to Lancy: bus 18 (every 30 minutes).

Tourist information and public transport tickets are available at the Unireso information desk in the arrival hall after the customs. Tickets can also be purchased from ticket machines located at the stops (small change CHF or Euro required) and at the train station.

SWITZERLAND:

Swiss rail network

The airport offers direct connections to the Swiss and European rail network. All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin (town centre).

The Airport railway station has direct access to the airport Departure/Arrival levels

FRANCE:

Shuttle from/to Grenoble, Chambery, Lyon:

Attention: the PRESTIGE TRAVEL shuttles service between Geneva and Grenoble will not be assured during December 2006.

The private company PRESTIGE TRAVEL (under the appellation "Aero-Express") serves regular shuttle services (minibus) to the Geneva International Airport (AIG).

Bus from/to the principal towns of Rhone-Alpes district

Important: the bus from/to France leave from the coach station of Geneva in the center town (5 minutes walking from the central station of Geneva-Cornavin). To go to the coach station from the airport, it's recommended to take the bus number 10.

Important: the trains from/to France leave from the central station of Geneva-Cornavin. Since the station of the airport, 5 trains per hour (route 6 minutes) join the central station of Geneva-Cornavin.

Useful information

Taxis in Geneva can be ordered by phone, hailed in the street or found at about 60 authorised taxi ranks in town, airport and main station.

Fares between airport and city range from about CHF 30.- to CHF 35.- and depend on traffic conditions, time of day and number of passengers. Presently, the fare within Geneva, including airport, is the amount shown on the taximeter.

The driver will request a small extra charge for luggage. Tip and VAT are included.

Basic charge: CHF 6.30 + kilometre CHF 3.20

Kilometre:

• Out of canton: CHF 3.80

• Nights, Sundays, public holidays: CHF 3.80
