Disabled facilities
Terminal 1 (domestic)
The entrance doors to Terminal 1 and between the individual halls are automatic. Therefore, it is easy for users of wheelchairs to move around throughout Terminal 1.
If wheelchair users need assistance, they should contact the ticket offices or service center in gate 6.
Please contact your airline in advance if you need a wheelchair.
Terminals 2 and 3 (international)
Before departure
If assistance is needed, including assistance all the way to the aircraft, you should tell the staff when booking your ticket.
Disabled parking
More information is available on our Web pages on parking.
On departure
The airline staff will help at check-in and baggage handling if the service has been booked with the airline or travel agency before departure. The staff can also help passengers through security check and all the way to boarding the aircraft – either in a wheelchair or in an electric car.
Please contact your airline in advance if you need a wheelchair. All doors are automatic, and there are lifts between the various floors of the terminal Wheelchair accessible toilets are available in all areas of the terminals (see map). The waiting area in the transit hall has a magnetic induction loop (see map).
Electric wheelchairs
Remember to ask the airline whether your flight can carry electric wheelchairs.
The passenger’s own wheelchair must be delivered to the airline at check-in and will then be sent either as overweight baggage or as cargo. If you choose to send it as cargo – which is the cheaper solution – the wheelchair must be checked in not later than four hours before departure.
You should bring along documentation from the producer or importer of the battery showing whether it has been tested according to the rules on dangerous goods.
Collapsible wheelchairs
Passengers can normally use their own wheelchair all the way to the departure gate. The wheelchair will then be placed in the baggage hold and be returned in the airport of arrival together with the other checked baggage.
Please contact the airport of arrival to obtain information on their facilities for disabled persons. The wheelchair will be carried free of charge and is not included in your free baggage allowance.
Services and shopping in the international terminals
It is possible to get around all over the terminals in a wheelchair as the doors are wide and do not have doorsteps.
There are waiting areas in quiet areas designed specially for the elderly and disabled who need assistance.
Passenger escort service
One relative is allowed to escort children and disabled persons all the way to the gate. The escort passport is issued by the service information desk in Terminal 3 against the presentation of photo ID. If the passenger is travelling to a non-Schengen destination, the escort must bring along both photo ID and a valid passport.
You can get more information on the escort service from your airline.
Toilets
There are wheelchair accessible toilets in all terminals.
