Check-in Baggage Information

Flight Reservation Baggage Information Details

The number of free baggage pieces or the total baggage weight allowed indicates the maximum free check-in luggage allowance for the specific flight.

Typically, each piece of luggage can weigh up to 50 lbs or 23 kilograms for economy and 70 lbs or 32 kilograms for busines and first class. When specific weight is displayed in your flight itinerary then such total weight is allowed for one single piece of baggage.

It is important to note that the displayed baggage allowance applies to the selected itinerary only, based on the final destination. Baggage allowance is final destination specific and intermediary stops do not affect the overall allowance rule.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Baggage rules are subject to change at any time by participating airlines without prior notice. Best Travel Store is not responsible for any changes to the allowed baggage policy which is displayed for informative purpose only. We suggest passengers verify up-to-date baggage rules prior to departure by contacting each participating airline.

Excess Luggage Fees

Excess luggage is subject to additional fees payable at the check-in counter or using specific airline’s online check-in that might be slightly cheaper.

Excess luggage fees vary with each airline, but you can typically expect to pay approximately US$25 for US/Canada domestic flights and US$55 for transoceanic flights, when you check in your first piece of non-free luggage. Additional pieces are subject to higher check-in fees and you should consult individual airline websites for detailed information.

Oversize Luggage or Sports Equipment

Each airline has its own specific regulations and fees with respect to oversize luggage and sports equipment. We suggest you logon to your ticketing airline’s website to obtain additional baggage information.

Traveling with Pets

Each airline has its own regulations with regard to pet travel, however, most airlines allow small pets to be brought on board, when they are kept in a kennel small enough to fit under the seat in front of you. Each passenger is limited to one pet only.

You must call the airline in advance and request permission to bring your pet onboard.

Large pets cannot be brought on board and usually cannot be checked-in (subject to specific airline regulations). Such pets must be transported as cargo and you should make special arrangement with the transporting airline.

Best Travel Store does not provide Additional Baggage Information

We do not provide baggage information beyond this Frequently Asked Questions item because each airline has its own specific rules that are available free of charge to the traveling public by accessing applicable airline websites. Simply type “Delta Baggage” into your favorite search engine if you are looking for Delta Airlines baggage information, for example.
