TSA Secure Flight Rule

The Transport Security Administration implemented a new rule effective November 1, 2010 that requires all passenger reservations to include each traveler’s date of birth and gender in addition to full name information. This requirement applies to all passengers flying to/from/within/over the United States, and for all U.S. operating carriers. The purpose of this rule is to ensure that persons prohibited from flying don’t board commercial airliners.

Most airlines require that their reservations include the TSA Secure Flight information before the November 1 deadline; especially since travel is typically booked months in advance and passengers traveling with insufficient information after the deadline could be denied boarding.
